DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police say a woman is dead after she was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend during an argument.

The incident happened during the early morning hours Tuesday at a residence on Second Avenue between Blaine and Gladstone streets, near the Lodge Freeway.

Police haven’t released many details about the case, other than to say it appears the couple was arguing prior to the stabbing.

The 66-year-old suspect is in custody and is expected to face murder charges, police said.

The victim was identified only as a woman in her late 50’s.

An investigation is ongoing.
