Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
UPDATE: In Oakland County: Southbound I-75 from Dixie Highway to M-15 scheduled lane closures for Friday night have been postponed due to weather per MDOT.
DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It's the weekend again, and road work crews are expected to be out in full force across metro Detroit.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
I-375:
In Detroit, northbound and southbound I-375 will be closed between St. Antoine and Larned streets beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and ending by 5 a.m. Monday for a film permit. Detours will be posted.
I-75:
In Oakland County, overnight double lane closures on southbound I-75 from Dixie Highway to M-15 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. each night through Tuesday, July 2 for paving.
In Detroit, northbound I-75, from M-8 (Davison Freeway) to McNichols Road has double right-lane closures Thursday and Friday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for ongoing resurfacing work. Ramps in the area will be closed and detoured.
In Detroit, southbound I-75, from 7 Mile Road to I-94, has single left-lane closures from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday for ongoing resurfacing work.
In Detroit, northbound I-75, from I-94 to 7 Mile Road, has single left-lane closures nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Wednesday.
In Oakland County, the entrance ramp from 14 Mile Road to northbound I-75 will be closed from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday for maintenance.
M-1 (Woodward Avenue):
In Oakland County, northbound and southbound Woodward Avenue, between Webster and 14 Mile roads, will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained during the daytime hours.
M-10:
In Detroit/Wayne County, southbound M-10 is closed from Howard to Griswold streets beginning Friday at 9 p.m. and ending by Monday at 5 a.m. for a film permit. Traffic can use the Bagley, Howard, or Grand River exits to access downtown.
M-39:
In Wayne County, the exit and entrance ramps from southbound M-39 to McNichols are closed beginning Saturday at 7 a.m. through Sunday at 7 p.m.
M-5:
In Oakland County, eastbound M-5 at Farmington Road has single lane closures, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning Friday and ending Wednesday.
Beginning the week of Monday, July 1:
I-275:
In Oakland County, the ramp from northbound I-275 to westbound I-96 has intermittent single left-lane closures beginning Monday at 8 a.m. and ending by Wednesday at 5 p.m.
I-375:
In Detroit, northbound I-375 from St. Antoine to Larned streets has a right-lane closure daily Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. except on Thursday, July 4.
I-75:
In Wayne County, southbound I-75 from Clay to Milwaukee Street has a single right-lane closure on Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entrance ramp from Clay to Southbound I-75 will be closed during the same time frame.
In Oakland County, the ramp from southbound I-75 to US-24 (Dixie Highway) is closed from 8 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday for paving.
M-153 (Ford Road):
In Wayne County, both directions of Ford Road at I-275 will be reduced to a single lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Monday through Wednesday for bridge work.
