MONROE (WWJ) – Police in Monroe County say a 16-year-old boy is being held in connection with several breaking and entering crimes that occurred over the last few months.

Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone said the teen was identified as a suspect after detectives reviewed recent reports, related evidence and video surveillance from businesses along S. Telegraph and S. Custer roads in Monroe Township that have reported break-ins.

Deputies went to the teen’s home around 2 p.m. Friday and placed him under arrest.

During a subsequent interview, Malone said the teen admitted to nine breaking and entering complaints which occurred between June 9, and July 3.

The teen is currently lodged at the Monroe County Youth Center. Due to the fact the suspect is a juvenile, his identify is not being disclosed at this time.
