Pistons Sign Italian League MVP Luigi 'Gigi' Datome

DETROIT (CBS DETROIT) - The Detroit Pistons' quest for athleticism took them overseas Tuesday.
According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pistons signed Italian League MVP Luigi 'Gigi' Datome. He averaged 17 points and 5.8 rebounds for Virtus Roma of Lega A in the team's most recent season, and Detroit has rewarded him with a two-year contract, Wojnarowski tweeted.

Datome enthusiastically announced his news on Facebook and Twitter. Fellow European and Piston Jonas Jerebko was quick to issue a social media welcome - in English.
