Truven Builds Accountable Care Organization For Medicare Shared Savings Program Recipients

ANN ARBOR -- Truven Health Analytics announced the release of a new system to help Medicare Shared Savings Program participants implement and manage their Accountable Care Organizations.

The Truven Health Unify system is designed to help organizations connect and harmonize disparate data for use in performance measurement and decision support as they transition to ACO revenue models.

"Healthcare organizations are encountering enormous challenges shifting from fee-for-service to at-risk revenue models," said Mike Boswood, president and CEO of Truven Health. "Our healthcare data and analytics expertise enable us to help these institutions reach their objectives of successfully managing through and beyond this transition while achieving more cost efficient, higher quality patient care."

The Truven Health Unify ACO system, developed in partnership with CareEvolution, incorporates CMS MSSP-specific metrics with claims data from both Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Claims and Claims Line Feed (CCLF). These data are then coupled with a highly secure, cloud-based analytics model and expert consulting support to deliver a tangible ACO implementation road map that is aligned to the ACO's needs.

"MSSP participants' HIT infrastructure, analytics capabilities, operations, and physician engagement all need to align in new ways, essentially changing the fundamental nature of the healthcare business," said Larry Yuhasz, director at Truven Health Analytics. "We have designed this solution to help get the ACO up and running quickly to meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act, while also laying a foundation that can grow in functionality as the organization decides to adopt more advanced approaches to population health."
