Police: Cell Phone Possible Factor In Rollover Crash That Killed Driver

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - A rollover crash in Ann Arbor has left a Chicago woman dead.

Michigan State Police Sergeant Mark Thompson says 49-year-old Debra Jones was using her cell phone while she was driving on M-14 near Barton Drive.

Two witnesses of the crash told police she then tried to pass a semi truck by using the left shoulder -- lost control of her car, rolled over, and crashed into the median.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thompson says his advice to drivers: don't use your cell phone while behind the wheel.

No one else was injured in the accident.
