DETROIT (CBS DETROIT) - Milwaukee Brewers reliever Francisco Rodriguez could be the answer for an ailing Detroit Tigers bullpen.

CBSSports.com reports that Detroit has been scouting Rodriguez. The Tigers have needed a closer all season long. Jose Valverde, Phil Coke, Drew Smyly and Joaquin Benoit have all saved games for Detroit this season. It has largely been an unsettled position. Benoit is now nine for nine in save opportunities, but he and Smyly have been the only consistent relievers for the Tigers. Rodriguez could be a huge boost.

Known as K-Rod, Rodriguez has a 1.08 ERA and 1.054 WHIP over 25 appearances this season. He is 10 for 10 in save situations. A three-time All-Star, Rodriguez has finished in the top five of Cy Young voting three times.
