Jet's Offers Free Slice Of Pizza Today!

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) What's better than pizza? Not many things -- unless it's free pizza!

So you've got that going for you today.

Jet's Pizza, to celebrate the opening of its 300th store, is giving away a free slice of its signature deep dish square pizza today.

The giveaway is happening 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the company's first location at 4815 E. 14 Mile Road in Sterling Heights.

The offer is valid at this location only, with one free slice per person.

It's a big weekend for Jet's, which celebrated its success Friday with a pizza cutting ceremony with local officials Friday. The company's 300th location opened in June in Ballwin, Missouri.

Brothers Eugene and John Jetts founded Jet's Pizza in 1978. Fourteen years later, after opening and operating several successful Jet's Pizza stores, a corporation called Jet's America was formed with the Jetts' cousins and business partners Jim Galloway, Jr. and Jeff Galloway.

"It took us 27 years to get to 100 stores," said President Eugene Jetts. "Now eight years later, we're passing 300. We have the infrastructure in place to continue rapid expansion. We expect to be in the top 10 pizza companies in the country by sales in the near future."
