DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police are expecting to release more information today about the arrest of two police officers.

The officers in question are from the Detroit and St. Clair Shores police departments. They were detained over the weekend in connection with an armed robbery.

Reports say they are also suspects in a string of incidents in which the victims reported being robbed by two men dressed as police. Victims told police they were pistol-whipped and robbed at gunpoint at a Citgo gas station on the city's east side ... and another victim reported that he was pulled over and robbed on Harper near 3 Mile Drive. Both robberies were allegedly committed by men dressed as officers.

Detroit Police have scheduled a 3pm news conference, at which time they are to provide details on the arrests. Over the weekend, police announced that a sergeant with 20 years of experience had been arrested in connection with one armed robbery case.
