LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan and Michigan State under the lights? Probably not at kickoff.
Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon says a night game between the Spartans and Wolverines is unlikely in the near future, at least not at Michigan Stadium.
Brandon says the annual game already is intense, on and off the sidelines. He says giving “everybody all day long to gear up for it” could detract from the game itself.
Brandon and Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis spoke to reporters Monday before a golf match in Lansing. Hollis didn’t seem as strongly opposed as his Michigan counterpart.
Both schools will play at least one home game at night this season.
