Beyoncé Spreads Her Love For Detroit

The Mrs. Carter Show: Detroit Dedication by Beyoncé on YouTube

By: Sara

Beyoncé recently took her talents to the Palace of Auburn Hills. Her tour date happened to land right around the time of the announcement of Detroit's bankruptcy. The plight of the city struck a cord with the songstress, and she and her team put together a video tribute for her show and then released it on her YouTube page.

"The Mrs. Carter Show, Detroit Dedication" features Beyoncé singing Sam Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come" while black and white images display different sides of Detroit. The video showcases both the crumbling buildings and those that still rise to the sky. Quick shots of Detroit's musical history also roll by, with clips of people like Aretha, Bob Seger, Jack White, Kid Rock, and Eminem. The final message of the video is a quote from Henry Ford that says "Failure is simply the opportunity to start over, this time more intelligently."
