Man Stabbed To Death In Lincoln Park

LINCOLN PARK (WWJ) - Police in Lincoln Park are investigating after a man was found stabbed to death in his own home.

Sergeant Jeff Mueller said the incident happened Thursday morning at a residence on Gorman Street, just west of the Fort Street/Outer Drive intersection.

"We had a report of a man that was stabbed in his home. Officers arrived to find a 35-year-old black male with multiple stab wounds who was deceased in his bedroom," he said.

Preliminary investigation shows that shortly after the stabbing, the victim attempted to call for help.

"He had called his friends in Detroit and said he needed help, and they in turn called 911 and they arrived at the same time police did," Mueller said.

But by the time police and EMS arrived, the man was dead.

Mueller said it's not yet clear if the victim knew his attacker. The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lincoln Park police at 313-381-1800.
