MDOT To Halt Road Work On Woodward For Upcoming Dream Cruise

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) -  The Michigan Department of Transportation will suspend the ongoing resurfacing of Woodward Avenue on Monday, Aug. 5, for the upcoming Woodward Dream Cruise.

Currently, MDOT is resurfacing more than five miles of Woodward Avenue between 14 Mile Road in Royal Oak and Oakridge Boulevard in Pleasant Ridge.

By 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, all traffic control devices will be removed. Woodward Avenue will then be fully open as classic cars make their way into town for the annual Dream Cruise, which is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 17.

The two-week suspension will end on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

All work on this $4.8 million investment is scheduled to be completed in November.
