Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It's the weekend again, and road work crews are expected to be out in full force across metro Detroit.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
I-94:
In Macomb County, the 11 Mile Road entrance ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed from 6 a.m. Thursday until 8 p.m. Friday for concrete work.
In Macomb County, scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, the eastbound I-94 exit to 12 Mile Road will be closed, and the existing two lane ramp from eastbound I-696 to eastbound I-94 will have a single lane closed until the end of September for ongoing road work.
In Macomb County, the right and center lanes of eastbound I-94 will be closed from 11 Mile Road to Masonic Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing resurfacing work. In addition, the ramp from eastbound I-696 to eastbound I-94 will be closed at the same time.
I-75:
In Oakland County, southbound I-75 will have two lanes closed from 9 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday for the application of pavement markings.
In Detroit, the left lane of southbound I-75 will be closed at 7 Mile Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday for maintenance work.
In Detroit, the left lane of southbound I-75 will be closed at McNichols Road from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday for maintenance work.
In Wayne County, a rolling double lane closure on northbound and southbound I-75 between King and Sibley roads from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday for pavement marking work.
I-696:
In Macomb County, the westbound I-696 ramp to Van Dyke Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday for maintenance work.
In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound I-696 will be closed for one 15-minute period between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday for utility crews to install a new line over the freeway. State police will assist with the closure.
Beginning the week of Monday, August 12:
I-94:
In Macomb County, intermittent single lane closures on eastbound I-94 at Metropolitan Parkway and on westbound I-94 at North River Road daily between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.
US-24 (Telegraph Road):
In Detroit, northbound Telegraph will have the right lane closed from Puritan to McNichols roads from 9 a.m. Monday until the end of October for utility work.
Multiple lanes may be closed intermittently during off-peak hours.
