Application Developers Alliance Invites Detroit Developers to Patent Summit: The Application Developers Alliance will hold a Developer Patent Summit in Detroit on Thursday, Aug. 15. The event, which will be held at The M@dison at 6:00 p.m., is part of a cross-country tour convening app developers, entrepreneurs, patent experts, and policymakers to discuss software patent challenges, trolls, and ideas for reform. The series is sponsored nationally by Rackspace and Careers 2.0 by Stack Overflow. The M@dison building is at 1555 Broadway St. in Detroit. A presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. featuring Suzanne Nolan, attorney at Kitch Drutchas Wagner Valitutti & Sherbrook, and panelists John Ellis, who leads the developer program at Ford Motor Co.; Ken Fox, senior mobile application developer at Detroit Labs; and Elaina Farnsworth, CEO at Mobile Comply. The moderator is Jake Ward, executive director of the Application Developers Alliance.
