Grosse Pointe Heads To Little League World Series With Kid Who Weighs 200 Lbs., Wears Size 15 Shoes

Known around the ballpark as “Swag Daddy,” he wears size 15 shoes, weighs 200 pounds, and stands 6 feet, 2 inches tall.

He’s also 12 years old.

Chad Lorkowski is getting attention for his size as his Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores team made it all the way to the Little League World Series.

He threw 10 strikeouts this weekend in the game that clinched his team’s trip to the World Series. He also hit two home runs.

“As you might imagine, he does play basketball, too,” an announcer said during a recent appearance.

This is the second time the team has made it to the Little League World Series, the last time was in 1979.

Grosse Pointe will play their first game in the series at 3 p.m. Friday against West Regional champion Eastlake, from Chula Vista, Calif.; It will be televised on ESPN.
