$6.6 Million Educational Center In Detroit Opens Its Doors

DETROIT (WWJ) - The new Diann Banks-Williamson Educational Center located on the campus of East English Village Prepatory Academy will focus on 9th - 12th graders.

Yolanda Campbell is president of the Parent Advisory Council on Student Achievement.

"All parents are welcome at the school at any time, any day, just go to the door ... and please we want you to come and sit in your students' classroom," she said.

"Volunteer at least once a year. We want you to be a part of the new beginning."

A variety of programs will be offered to the high school students including music, track, swimming, Special Olympics and scouts learning for life program.

The new educational center, costing $6.6 million,  celebrated a ribbon cutting on Tuesday.
