While Lions fans continue to bask in the glow of throttling the Patriots on Thursday evening, there could be even more reason for excitement, that is if you trust one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play the game.

New England QB Tom Brady had glowing remarks about Detroit and how good they could potentially be this season.

"They have a great team, they have a great front" Brady said. "They got some guys that can really rush the quarterback and put a lot of pressure on the ball. They're a good football team and if you don't play well against a good football team then you get results like we got tonight."

Brady continued to compliment the Lions saying "I think they have some really good players and you're not going to have time to sit back there and survey the field the whole time. They got guys that can rush the quarterback that are disruptive in the run game and the pass game and they have a pretty tough scheme. It's never been easy against the Lions and we have played them a bunch over the years and they're always very challenging and they will have a very good team this year."

It must count for something that Brady started off saying that the Lions were going to be a "good" team and then he upgraded their status to "very good?"

Brady also talked about his Thursday in Detroit and having a chance to go back to his alma mater Michigan to talk to the football team.

"It was a great experience for me and I hope those guys enjoyed it too" Brady said. "I wish we would have played better tonight, that would have made the trip great."

Brady also said that being named Michigan team captain in his 4th and 5th year was the greatest achievement in his football playing career. Watch the video above to see if the former Wolverine backtracked on that statement when I asked him about it after the game?
