Elderly Man Killed In Crash On I-96

WEBBERVILLE (WWJ) – A fatal traffic investigation is holding up commuters on I-96 near Lansing.

Police say an 89-year-old man was killed after his vehicle was involved in an accident with a semi-truck around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. The accident happened on westbound I-96 at the M-52/Stockbridge Rd/Exit 122 in Webberville.

As a result of the crash investigation, only one lane is open on westbound I-96 and Exit 122 is closed. Stop and go traffic is backed up for several miles, with some commuters reporting a 30 minute delay.

Authorities say they are unsure how long the closures will last.
