Arts, Beats & Eats Features New Smartphone App

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) With the best in metro Detroit food, entertainment and art spilling through the streets of downtown Royal Oak, Arts, Beats & Eats is quickly becoming a Labor Day weekend tradition for thousands in metro Detroit.

But how to keep track of it all?

Enter the event's newest feature: The Arts, Beats & Eats app.

This year, festival goers will have access to all of the information for the food, rocking beats and beautiful art in the palm of their hand.

Available in the itunes store, and Google Play store for Android users, the official  Arts, Beats & Eats app lets guests customize their experience through a number of features.

Who's on stage right now? What are the eating options? How can I make sure not to forget that performance I really want to catch? Where should I park? The app helps with all of that.

"Users can receive personalized push notifications for events such as music stage performance schedules and a lineup of special programs," organizers said in a press release.

There's also this: Organizers will be walking through the crowd looking for smartphone users. If one of them taps you on the shoulder and  you can show you have the app downloaded, they'll give you $200 in food tickets.
