After dropping a pass that turned into an interception in the the Detroit Lions' last preseason game, wide receiver Nate Burleson pledged on Twitter that he would not drop another pass and that if he did he would give $100 to an elementary school for every drop of the season.
Within the span of an hour and a couple tweets, though, Burleson upped the ante and gave the schools incentive to root for him rather than against him.
4 yrs as a Lion...droppin the ball isn't me! Won't happen again & if it does, I'll donate 100 for each drop to a different elementary school

Well, I was gonna give $100.00 to 5 different schools for each drop or I'll give 1 school $500.00. Either way it's for the kids. #LionBlood

Y'all are coming up with some great ideas so due to your comments... No drops all year and I'll do 10k spread across Detroit Public Schools

Burleson dropped just one pass in 2012, so he has a good shot of meeting that no-drops goal. Whether he meets that mark or not, Burleson invests in the community in many ways, donating money but also participating in various events.
