Senior Year Begins For Thousands Of Metro Detroit High Schoolers

DETROIT (WWJ) - For thousands of metro high school students going back-to-school, this marks the final year of high school for them. WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher talked to some local students ... embarking on their senior year.

"I'm really excited there is going to be a lot of new experiences ...and I'm not going to be as worried about school and just be more of living it up," Megan Engels, a senior in high school.

Novi High School senior Megan Engels already has senioritis, but Chetali Jain says senior year came out of nowhere and there's some worry involved.

"It's so stressful - college is just so expensive these days - you have to watch about scholarships and all that stuff," said Jain.

Chelsea Lau is planning to go to college in Canada, but wants to enjoy her senior year first.

"It's mostly excitement because it's easier classes, mostly, getting to experience everything for the last time," said Lau. "So that's going to be sad."

They all say they are concerned about paying for college ... most saying they know they'll have to take out loans.
