New RoboCop Trailer Features Detroit Riverfront

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) What does the city of Detroit look like in the new RoboCop movie?

The wait to find out is over.

"This is the future of American justice," Samuel L. Jackson says in the dramatic trailer for the movie, which is set for release in 2014.

According to the plot synopsis, this is the premise:

Multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and honest cop doing his best to fight crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured while on duty, OmniCorp utilize their knowledge in robotics to save Murphy's life. Murphy returns to the streets of his city with new abilities and issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Will another RoboCop movie featuring Detroit bring the much-anticipated Robo Cop statue to Detroit? Only time will tell.
