The 2013 Detroit Lions regular season is finally here and there are hopes, dreams, and of course despair as the new season kicks off. In many ways it's like a holiday as fans old and young alike believe that this actually might be the year...... and like a tradition since 1957 that refrain has been be kept intact. How many honest Lions backers, even the most ardent Lions disbelievers, had them pegged for four wins last season and how many had them winning 10 in 2011?

The Lions have one of the most talented teams to line up in Honolulu Blue and Silver in years and there is no more peaceful time then when the team is 0-0. Get ready for the annual , "I can't believe they just blew that game", and the all-time great "Same Ole Lions" to litter the airwaves and water coolers for the coming months. That comes every year around these parts, so until then....we can dream!!!!

Week 1- Sept 9th Minnesota 1pm Lions 31 Vikings 27- Detroit opens up with a big win to start the season in front of a raucous home crowd. Memories of the horrid 12' season dissipate for at least one week.

Week 2- Sept 15th @Arizona 4:05 pm Lions 28 Cardinals 17 Lions get a little revenge in the desert. Carson Palmer throws three picks and AZ fans wish for the good ole days of John "Red" Skelton.

Week 3 - Sept 22nd @Washington 1pm (based on RB 3 playing) Washington 24 Lions 20 - Lions struggles in the Nation's Capitol continue.

Week 4-Sept 29th Chicago 1pm Lions 24 Bears 14 Does Jay Cutler and the aging Bears D minus one Brian Urlacher really scare anyone? Wait did I mention the Bears QB is Jay Cutler?

Week 5-Oct 6th @Green Bay 1pm Lions 31 Packers 28(OT) THE STREAK ENDS HERE!! Packers D being vastly overrated helps the cause and "Roseanne" reruns, TV's #1 show the last time the Lions won at Lambeau, are played non-stop in Motown.

Week 6-Oct 13th @Cleveland 1pm Lions 21 Browns 7- "Dogpound" in Cleveland bored by halftime- break out in chants of "Bring Back McCoy or Quinn or Anderson or Couch or….heck they are all horrible bring back Kosar"

Week 7-Pct 20th Cincinnati 1pm Lions 24 Bengals 19- Lions first round draft pick Ziggy Ansah gets the game ball after shutting down The Law Firm and sacking The Red Barron three and a half times.

Week 8-Oct 27th Dallas 1pm Lions 28 Cowboys 20 - Let Tony Romo play as long as he wants in Big D, cause he can't beat the Leo's.

BYE- Lions can't lose this one!! (Although Vegas has the Bye as a 2 point fave)

Week 10 -Nov 10th @Chicago 1 pm Bears 21 Lions 17 In a driving rainstorm, the Lions can't get the ground game going, but do have some tasty Chicago Deep Dish on the bus ride home.

Week 11-Nov 17th @Pittsburgh 1pm Steelers 24 Lions 20 Tomlin coaches em up , Lions hang in late , but Big Ben burns them in the end.

Week 12 -Nov 24th Tampa Bay 1pm Lions 35 Bucs 21 The Josh Freeman Experience isn't really an experience at all. The Muscle Hamster has a big day, but it's not enough in the end as Megatron shreds the Bucs Secondary and a hobbled Darrelle Revis.

Week 13 -Nov 28th(Thanksgiving) Green Bay 12:30 pm Lions 31 Packers 21 I know , sweeping the Pack? If they are going to finally win in Lambeau, then why not on T-Day against a team they already beat on the road.

Week 14 - Dec 8th @ Philadelphia 1 pm Eagles 20 Lions 17 Chip Kelly's new look Eagles have troubling scoring against the Lions improved D, but blind them with their new neon green uni's.

Week 15-Dec 16th Baltimore (Monday Night Football) 8:40 pm Lions 24 Ravens 23 The Lions bring back the echoes of the MNF win over the Bears in 2011 as Ford Field is on fire all night long.

Week 16 - Dec 22nd New York Giants 4:05 pm Lions 26 Giants 20 (flexed to Sunday Night Football) Lions clinch a playoff berth! "Wayne Fontes" bobble head day at Ford Field could not go any better!

Week 17 -Dec 29th @Minnesota 1pm Vikings 24 Lions 20 A.P burns the Lions again, but with most of its starters resting after playoff seeding has been determined, Lions go into the playoffs crisp.

So there it is. the Lions will be 11-5 in 2013, make the playoffs, and actually win a game for the first time since 1991. Call me crazy, heck call me maybe, but don't try to tell me this isn't fun:)
