Police: Boy Calls 911 After Mom Held At Gunpoint

PONTIAC (WWJ/AP) - Officials say an 8-year-old boy called 911 after two men held his mother at gunpoint during a robbery attempt at their Pontiac apartment.

Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office responded to the apartment complex in the 200 block of Ridgemont in Pontiac after receiving the boy's call around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the mother told them that two men entered her apartment and forced her to the floor at gunpoint. The suspects then allegedly demanded money and went through the woman's purse and kitchen cabinets, but found nothing of value and fled.

No one was injured, but the woman's four children were at the apartment during the break in.

Responding deputies secured the area and requested a K-9. The track proceeded west behind the apartment complex, but ended at Raskob and Barkell streets.

Based on suspect descriptions provided by the victim, investigators are looking for two black males in their early 20's, one with a light complexion and one with a dark complexion.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to call police at 248-858-5000.
