Drunk Mom Arrested After Fight At Child's School

FRASER (WWJ) - Fights aren't uncommon in schools, but it's rarely between parents in the parking lot.

Police say Lisa Rosales of Warren drove to Richards Middle School in Fraser to pick up her 13-year-old daughter... only she was drunk at the time. Police were called after the woman allegedly got into an altercation with another mother. And Fraser Police Lt. Dan Kolke says there was little doubt by officers that Rosales was drunk.

"When they spoke to her, she was pretty intoxicated. She was able to do some of the sobriety tests, but she was just kind of babbling on because she was so intoxicated," says Kolke.

And Lt. Kolke explains what happened outside of the school with Rosales.

"She had parked in the middle of the lot, so another parent approached her and when the parent approached her, she pushed that other parent. And as our officers were speaking to her about the fight, they noticed that she had been drinking and did the sobriety tests and did a breathalyzer. And she was arrested, and blew a .18," says Kolke.

Rosales' blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. She also had 40 Oxycontin pills, which means in addition to the DUI she was arraigned on a felony drug charge.

Child Protective Services was called in for the woman's daughter.
