RocketHub to Visit Michigan for Crowd Camp Weekend: Meet the founders of the crowdfunding site RocketHub at Crowd Camp Weekend Oct. 12 and 13 at Ann Arbor Spark, 330 E. Liberty St. in Ann Arbor. The event is sponsored by Spark and the Mid Michigan Innovation Center. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. RocketHub founders Brian Meece and Gustavo Rodriguez have lectured on crowdfunding at SXSW, TEDxBrooklyn, Columbia University, Maker Faire, White House Roundtables, and have even testified before the U.S. Congress. Their goal? To teach entrepreneurs, creatives, and makers how to leverage the crowd for funding their endeavors. Plus you and your idea could be featured on A&E TV and projectstartup.com. Those chosen by A&E Project Startup have a chance to be featured on-air, online, and in A&E's magazine, The Idea Book for Educators. If you launch a project on RocketHub, A&E could become one of your funders. A&E Project Startup has committed significant funds to pour into select RocketHub projects. Automotive Testing And Engine Expos To Be Held Oct. 22-24 In Novi: The Automotive Testing Expo North America, showcasing cutting-edge automotive development technologies to the home of the United States' motor Industries in Michigan, will be held on Oct. 22-24 at The Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The event is in its 11th year and runs concurrently with the Engine Expo North America, featuring the latest in engine design and technology alongside exhibits of automotive production technology at the Automotive Testing Expo. There will also be an electric and hybrid zone, featuring motors, the very latest battery technology, controllers, capacitors and more, alongside internal combustion engine technology. Ann Arbor Spark Offers Selling Smart Workshop: "Setting Ground Rules for Healthy Business Relationships" is the title of Ann Arbor Spark's next selling smart workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2. In this Selling Smart workshop, attendees will learn and practice a skill to gain more momentum in sales situations through verbally setting an agenda for each interaction, increasing mutual understanding and shortening sales and customer decision cycles. Ann Arbor Spark Offers Michigan Energy Forum: "Energy Myths" is the theme of Ann Arbor Spark's next Michigan Energy Forum from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3. A variety of myths and misconceptions have crept into the common discussions and understanding about energy. This month's event will examine some of these common myths that people encounter in their daily lives. A panel of experienced energy professionals will seek to unravel the truths about these issues and understand how these myths might have developed. More at this link.
