On November 2, the Wolverines and Spartans will face off in a match up that has more than just division and conference implications. Michigan and Michigan State have been battling for in-state supremacy for the last several years and it will all culminate this season.
With both teams reeling in questions about where they stand, the two squads will resolve at least one of their issues: Which is the better team in Michigan?
97.1 The Ticket’s Mike Valenti believes that in order for Michigan State to stay out of the shadow of the Wolverines for another year, this year’s match up is a must win.
“They have to win on November 2,” Valenti bluntly stated on his radio show Tuesday. “It’s all on the line for the Spartans. They have to win or it’s back to the kid’s table. It’s back to little brother status.”
With Michigan State coming off a close, controversial loss to Notre Dame and the Wolverines narrowly beating Akron and Connecticut in what should have been routs, the outcome of this year’s game is hard to predict.
With still over a month left before the match up, many questions could be answered before the two teams take the field across from each other.
Which team will end up winning on Nov. 2? Which team needs a victory more?
