Caputo: Three Ways The Lions Can Beat The Bears

By Pat Caputo

1. The Lions' pass rush will be especially important Sunday. It's the Bears' first game indoors. They are starting two rookies along the right side of the offensive line in Kyle Long (Howie's kid) and Jordan Mills. One of the Lions' strengths is the pass rushing prowess of Ndamukong Suh and Ziggy Ansah, and Nick Fairley, if he is healthy. Crowd noise could be a huge factor in this game.

2. The Lions are going to have to have to defend the screen. Bears running back Matt Forte has burned them with screens in the past. One of Chicago QB Jay Cutler's favorite plays is the bubble screen to wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

3. The Lions may be able to exploit the middle of the Bears' defensive line. Pro Bowl tackle Henry Melton is out for the year because of knee injury suffered last week at Pittsburgh. His backups are not nearly as effective.
