Wife Charged In Alleged Buttocks Stabbing

FERNDALE (WWJ) - A woman has been charged with assault after police say she stabbed her husband in the backside and then lied about it.

Raylene Yvette Jones, 49, is being held on a $25,000 cash/surety bond following the incident Wednesday night at the Motorama Motel on 8 Mile Road in Ferndale.

Police, who arrived at that establishment at around 10:20 p.m. to investigate a call about an injured resident, found a 50-year-old man bleeding from his buttocks/upper thigh area,

Officers entered the man's dwelling to find Jones, who claimed her husband had fallen and cut himself on some glass.

According to police, evidence at the scene indicated otherwise; and the man eventually told them his wife — mad that he'd come home late — had cut him with a knife.

Jones was arrested at the scene and arraigned Thursday on a charge of felonious assault — a four-year felony.

Police say Jones has an extensive criminal history.
