Metro Detroiters Frustrated With Talk About Possible Gov't Shutdown

DETROIT (WWJ) - Are you frustrated by all the talk about a possible government shutdown? WWJ's Ron Dewey caught up with some people who told him they are fed up with all the posturing.

Pontiac resident Kevin Smith is among the metro Detroiters asking themselves "why can't these guys get along?"

"Two kids; one want they (sic) way, the other want they (sic) way; you know it's - I believe - it should be a give-and-take situation; give a little to get a little," Smith said.

Does he think compromise is really possible?

"Yes it is," he responded. "It's America."

Smith says he would not be affected by a shutdown, but adds that he has friends who would be affected because they receive assistance and benefits from the government.
