Sex Crimes Fall, On-Campus Larcenies Rise According To U of M Annual Report
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Sex crimes were down but thefts were up last year on the University of Michigan campus.
That's according to a summary released by the U of M Police Department.
Sexual assaults fell from 44 in 2011 to 34 last year. Reports of stalking and sexual harassment fell, too.
But, total on-campus larcenies rose from 617 in 2011 to 734 in 2012.
U of M releases the annual report to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act.
Jeanne Clery was a Lehigh University freshman who was raped and murdered on campus in 1986.
