SWAT Team Deployed After Man Aims Rifle At Neighbors
DETROIT (WWJ) - An angry bout of yelling between neighbors turned into a barricaded gunman situation, Tuesday morning, in Mt. Clemens.
According to Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, a 63 year-old man went into his apartment, following the argument, and came back with a rifle. He allegedly began pointing it at people, before heading back inside — and then refused to come out.
The Macomb County Sheriff's SWAT Team and hostage negotiators were called to the scene, on Beyne St. near Clinton River Dr., just after 8:30 a.m.
At 11 a.m., the SWAT Team entered the apartment and found the man passed out.
He was taken into custody and transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation.
Sheriff's officials say brandishing a gun in such a way is considered felonious assault.
Investigators and evidence technicians remained on the scene just before noon.
No one was hurt.
