Police Search For Masked Bank Robbers

INDEPENDENCE TWP. (WWJ) - Police in Oakland County are searching for two masked men who were recorded on camera robbing a bank.

The robbery happened around 10:55 a.m. Monday at an Oxford Bank located in the 7100 block of Ortonville Road in Independence Township.

According to police, two men entered the bank, one armed with a dark-colored handgun, and took an undetermined amount of cash. The suspects were last seen leaving the bank on foot in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as about 6' tall, wearing a mask, grey hoodie and gloves. He is believed to be armed. The second suspect is described as about 5'10" tall, wearing a mask, black hoodie and gloves.

The FBI has been notified and agents are actively working with sheriff detectives on the investigation.
