Ex-MLB Player Chad Curtis To Be Sentenced In Mich.

HASTINGS, Mich. (AP) — Former major league outfielder Chad Curtis faces up to 15 years in prison for inappropriately touching teenage girls.

A Barry County jury this past summer found the 44-year-old two-time World Series champion guilty of six counts of criminal sexual conduct.

A sentencing hearing for Curtis is set for Thursday.

Prosecutors say he touched the girls last year when he was a volunteer weight-room strength trainer at an area high school. A 16-year-old girl accused him of touching and kissing her breasts. Two 15-year-old girls said Curtis inappropriately touched their buttocks.

Between 1992 and 2001, Curtis played for the then-California Angels, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Texas Rangers. He won the two World Series rings with the Yankees.
