Motorcyclist Dies After Crash With Car
BRANDON TWP. (WWJ) - Police say a 58-year-old motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet has died after being involved in a crash.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday when Donald Ruks was riding his motorcycle northbound on Ortonville Road, near Wolfe Road in Brandon Township.
Police say a 21-year-old woman was attempting to turn left out of a McDonald's restaurant when she pulled onto Ortonville Road directly into Ruks' path.
Ruks, who was not wearing a helmet, died from injuries sustained in the crash while on the way to the hospital. The other driver was uninjured.
Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
