Complaint Against Former Detroit City Council President, Charles Pugh, Sent To Prosecutor

PONTIAC (WWJ) - A criminal complaint targeting former Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh was filed this week by Madison Heights police.

It is alleged that Pugh had inappropriate contact with a teenager that he mentored.

The complaint was forwarded to prosecutors for review.

Madison Heights police have interviewed the alleged victim, who is now 18, but not Pugh, who declined to speak to police, acting on the advice his attorney.

"If the warrant goes ahead then Mr. Pugh would be contacted and asked to turn himself in," said Lt. Robert Anderson.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on May 31 in Detroit.

According to police, no other complaints have been received by Madison Heights police about Pugh.
