Officials: Trooper Out Of Hospital After Shooting

SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a state trooper has been released from a hospital after being shot in Saginaw in an exchange of gunfire that also left a suspect wounded.

MLive.com reports police responded Thursday night to a reported shooting and the suspect fled. State police say troopers saw a man matching the suspect's description enter an abandoned home.

When officers approached, police say a shooting ensued.

Police say the trooper, who was wearing a bullet-resistant vest, was briefly hospitalized before being released later Thursday night. The condition of the suspect wasn't released, but police say he was hospitalized after the shooting.

Names of those involved weren't immediately released.
