Michigan State University Announces Online Master's Degree in Management, Strategy and Leadership

EAST LANSING (WWJ) -- Michigan State University is offering a new Master of Science in Management, Strategy and Leadership from its Eli Broad College of Business.

Enrollment in this all-online course began Oct. 1 and classes start Jan. 6.

"Our internationally recognized faculty has designed this program to help students become more effective communicators, managers, leaders and decision-makers," said Robert Wiseman, the Eli Broad Legacy Fellow of Management. "Unlike an MBA, which focuses on core disciplines such as accounting, marketing, finance and operations, this degree hones in on the knowledge and skills necessary to lead and motivate people, improve a company's competitive position, and create and execute organizational change."

The Broad College was ranked No. 2 in human resources management in 2012 by the Financial Times, ranked a top 25 business school nationwide by Forbes, and is one of less than 5 percent of the world's 13,000 business schools to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

While traditional master's programs require 12 courses in two years, MSU's Master of Science in Management, Strategy and Leadership program encompasses 15 five-week courses that can be completed in as little as 20 months.

With technology powered by Florida-based University Alliance, MSU's new graduate programs feature anytime, anywhere learning from a computer or mobile device. Each program allows students to learn on their own busy schedules via professor-led video-based lectures and downloadable audio and video files. A vibrant virtual community includes professor-hosted discussion boards, live sessions with visual whiteboards, live chat rooms, email, social networking, group study and sharing, and 24/7 technical support.
