DETROIT (WWJ) – Three women are facing multiple felony offenses in connection with a home invasion and assault that occurred earlier this month on Detroit’s east side.
Twenty-five-year-old Tiesha Hawkins-Tims, 20-year-old Theresa Tims and 19-year-old Phyllis Tims were arraigned this week on various home invasion and assault charges that stem from the Oct. 5 incident.
According to police, Hawkins-Tims forced her way inside a home in the 6400 block of Frontenac, near I-94, and became involved in a verbal altercation with 25-year-old India Wilson, who was inside the home.
At some point during the altercation, police said things got physical and Hawkins-Tims started to assault Wilson. Moments later, Theresa and Phyllis Tims arrived at the home and assisted in the assault, according to police.
As Wilson tried to get away, police said Theresa Tims snatched her purse and removed personal items, including an undisclosed amount of cash.
While the attack was still underway, the homeowner, 35-year-old Ahmad Ford, arrived and attempted to intervene. At that time, police said Hawkins-Tims retrieved a sharp-edged weapon from the kitchen and cut Wilson. Hawkins-Tims then went after Ford and critically stabbed him, according to police. All three suspects then escaped from the scene.
Both Ford and Wilson were rushed to local hospitals and are expected to make full recoveries.
Members of the Detroit Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit submitted warrants on all three suspects, which were reviewed and signed by the Wayne County’s Prosecutors Office.
Tiesha Hawkins-Tims is charged with one count of assault with intent to murder, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, three counts of felonious assault, and one count of home invasion – first degree. Bond was set at $100,000.
Theresa Tims is charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of home invasion – first degree, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and one count of felonious assault. Bond was set at $75,000.
Phyllis Tims is charged with one count of home invasion, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, one count of felonious assault, and one count of aggravated assault and battery. Bond was set at $75,000.
All three suspects are due back in court for a preliminary examination on Oct. 17.
