Saginaw Future Inc. Receives Excellence in Economic Development Award: Saginaw Future Inc., the economic development agency for Saginaw County, has received a Bronze Excellence in Economic Development Award from the International Economic Development Council for its 2012 Morley Cos. project in the category of Business Retention and Expansion – Single Event for communities with populations of 25,000 to 200,000. The honor was presented at an awards ceremony during the IEDC Annual Conference, which was held last week in Philadelphia, Penn. In 2012, Morley Companies, a major area employer. was experiencing accelerated growth at a rapid pace. The company — which provides group travel, performance improvement, business process outsourcing, exhibits, displays and market research — had additional opportunities, but had outgrown its current facilities. At the same time, AT&T, a worldwide communications provider, was moving from landline phones to IP and wireless communication. AT&T consolidated its area operations in downtown Saginaw, which made AT&T’s service center in Saginaw Charter Township available — and Morley bought it.
