Homecoming For Jazz Singer Jesse Palter

WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ)– Jesse Palter can’t remember a time when she wasn’t performing.  The West Bloomfield native was doing talent shows and community theatre even before she was in Kindergarten. So it only made sense that she would pursue a career as a singer.

“My whole life, I never knew anything different,” Palter said.  “It’s a blessing and a curse. I always knew what I was meant to do.  It was a journey for sure.  There was never any doubt in my mind that this is what I was supposed to do.”

Singing talent was in Palter’s genes, since she grew up listening to her grandmother, who was a renowned opera singer in New York.

Now, she’s coming back to West Bloomfield this weekend from Los Angeles, which she now calls home, to perform a big jazz concert at the Berman Center For The Performing Arts.

“I’m very much looking forward to my show this Saturday and being part of the Detroit energy,” said Palter.  “My fan base is tremendously here, and it’s always great to come back to my roots and dig into that.”

Palter says that the show she and her band have planned is going to be special because they just recorded a new album in July.  Palter says, “We are going to be previewing the album from start to finish in a performance setting.  So you are going to get to hear every tune on the album performed live. And the band is phenomenal.”

The Jesse Palter Quartet will be performing  Saturday night at 8pm at the Berman Center For The Performing Arts in West Bloomfield.  Tickets are 22 dollars for members of the Jewish Community Center and 27 for non-members.
