Police: Drunk Man Arrested At Party Store Was Nearly 3 Times Legal Limit

WATERFORD (WWJ) - Police say a 52-year-old convicted drunk driver was nearly three times the legal limit when he was arrested in the parking lot of a party store.

Police said they received a call from a concerned citizen around 7:30 p.m. last Saturday who wanted to report an intoxicated driver who had pulled into the parking lot of Anthony's Party Store in Waterford.

Officers responded to the area of Williams Lake Road and Warringham Avenue and stopped the driver, later identified as Pierre Adolph Dietrich, as he attempted to leave the parking lot. After speaking with Dietrich, officers determined he was intoxicated and placed him under arrest.

Back at the police department, further investigation showed that Dietrich's blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit.

According to police, Dietrich was driving on a suspended license at the time of his arrest. Additionally, his driving history shows several prior convictions for operating under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Dietrich was booked and lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending warrants. Two days later, Dietrich was arraigned in 51st District Court on one count of operating while intoxicated - high blood alcohol content, and one count of driving while license suspended - second offense. He was given a $15,000 personal bond and released.
