It might be hard to get through to 97.1 The Ticket these days because the lines are full with Detroit fans angry about Prince Fielder.

Fielder has had a rough postseason hitting just .243 with no homers or RBI and his OPS sits at a mere .587.

But is Fielder the reason that the Tigers are on the brink of elimination in the ALCS?

Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon isn’t buying it…

“I don’t think it’s fair to say that Prince Fielder is the reason that we’re not winning the series, I think that’s a bunch of Bologna” McClendon said.

McClendon also disagreed with the people that think Fielder is trying too hard…

“I think we all do that on occasion” McClendon said. “When the stage is this big, things are magnified, but I can tell you this, Prince is working his ass off trying to get it right. He put in some quality time today and hopefully it’ll pay off. He’s feeling good about where he is and hopefully tonight will be a big night for him.”
