Valenti And Foster: Were You Encouraged or Discouraged By The Lions This Week?

The Lions have done a lot of losing over the years, including a particularly bad season in which the team lost every game it played. But this year, some fans think that when the team loses, it feels different.

97.1 The Ticket's Mike Valenti and Terry Foster believe that the Lions' 27-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend wasn't all bad.

"When the game was over I wasn't left saying 'same old Lions'," Foster said on his radio show Tuesday. "I thought Cincinnati was the better team. The fact that the Lions turned it into a game after being down means that it isn't the 'same old Lions', but the closest thing to it was the Sam Martin punt. "When you look at the product on the field, it's different from what you usually get from the Lions. This team is a little bit different from those over the last decade."

Valenti, usually a stern critic, agreed in saying that although the team suffered a disappointing loss, Lions fans still have reason to be encouraged.

"This was a loss to a good football team, a playoff team," Valenti said Tuesday. "If a few things bounce their way and they might have pulled that game off. Should they have won this game? Probably."

What do you think about Sunday's game? How did you feel following the loss?
