Veteran Disappears After Trip To The Hospital In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Macomb County Sheriff officials are looking for help to find a missing veteran who suffers from mental illness.

The Veterans Affairs Hospital says 59-year-old Richard Furdock was taken to the hospital —  at 4646 John R Street in Detroit — Monday at 5:15 a.m., only to find that his appointment had been canceled.

Furdock never returned to his group home in New Haven and was last seen at the hospital at around 8 a.m.

He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and approximately 170 lbs. He has very short brown hair, brown eyes, and fair skin. Furdock was last seen white wearing a blue varsity jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about Furdock's whereabouts is asked to call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at 586-469-5151 or the Sheriff's Detective Bureau at 586-307-9358.
