2 Serious Accidents Close Area Freeways Wednesday
DETROIT (WWJ) - Two separate serious injury accidents closed area freeways Wednesday.
Mid-afternoon a serious injury accident closed a busy intersection in Rochester Hills for a couple of hours. As WWJ Newsradio 950's Sandra McNeill tells us, it appears there were a series of chain-reaction crashes.
Mark Lewindowski works at a restaurant at the corner of Rocherster and Hamlin:
"I had a customer come in just seconds after it happened, " he said. "She said she heard a loud bang."
Lewindowski told WWJ that he rushed to the scene and saw the chain-reaction crashes.
"The car was just completely flattened," he said of the northern most car involved in the accident. "The center car was mangled beyond belief ..." but said amazingly the woman in the car did not appear hurt.
While later in the evening an accident involving one car and a semi-truck forced police to close a portion of I-75.
