3 Arrested, 1 At Large After Break-In At Detroit Pharmacy

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police have three people in custody and are searching for a fourth suspect following a smash and grab robbery from a drug store.

The situation unfolded Thursday morning after a group of crooks broke into a pharmacy inside the Food Palace Market on 7 Mile Road and Healy Avenue. According to police, the thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and Oxycontin, a narcotic prescription pain reliever.

A tracking device that was included in the money bag helped police track and locate one of the suspects, who was reportedly hiding in the basement of the house on Fenelon Street and 7 Mile Road. Two other suspects were located shortly after, hiding in a house just a few blocks over on Healy Avenue.

Reporting live from the scene, WWJ's Ron Dewey said investigators are combing over a white SUV parked in a driveway of the home off Fenelon.

Police are still looking for a fourth suspect, dressed in a red hooded sweatshirt, who might be driving a gray Chrysler 300.
