Man Arrested In Canton Township Bank Robbery

CANTON TWP. (WWJ/AP) – A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Canton Township.

Police say the man, who was not identified, was arrested Friday. The case has now been turned over to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The robbery happened around 4 p.m. Thursday at a Comerica Bank inside the Kroger store at Ford and Canton Center roads. According to police, a white man went into the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding cash and implying he had a gun.

The man left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, but was photographed by a bank surveillance camera.
