Atlanta PD Looking For New Police Officers -- In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - It looks like the city of Atlanta is looking for a few good police officers -- in Detroit.
The Atlanta Police Department held recruiting events in Detroit over the weekend. In fact, recruiters with the Atlanta Police Department tour the country regularly looking for new officers.
In Detroit, meanwhile, the Police Department held a recruiting fair in August, the first it had in a number of years.
In case you're interested, the entry level pay for an Atlanta Police officer is about $39,000 a year; that's about $10,000 more than for an entry level officer in Detroit.
